So I have been using Google Analytics for the past month to monitor my site. It has been very helpful. Funny things have shown up on the keywords searched for that include, golg course and 99 lenses better than photographers bourne. I have had visitors from all around the world including Switzerland, Lithuania, South Africa, Germany, although most visits are from Utah.

Create an Abstract
November 20, 2009The other day I was talking to a photographer who said that she was going to be having an exhibit in a gallery sometime soon. Her booker said that their would be six other artists there and that kind of threw her off. As we practice photography we need to keep in mind that we are all artists. Anyways yesterday I went out and decided to make some art. It was a pretty crazy idea but I decided that it should happen. My friend and I went to a busy intersection and wanted to get some car streaks. While we were there I made this image. I made it by taking a long exposure by holding still for a few sec then rotating the camera like crazy. As we are making art it is important to look at things differently and sometime make something crazy. Its lots of fun.

Making your colors pop
November 19, 2009When taking colorful landscapes it is really important to make your color “pop.” There are a lot of different definitions for “pop” but in my mind when it pops it pretty much blows your eyes like craziness. Here is an example of my crazy colors. To get these mad results I went into the curves and made a S figure curve and then adjusted the vibrance. When you get you color right your pictures will be just grand.

Editing old pics make them new
November 18, 2009I edited a picture that was taken last sept and made it new. It is good practice to go through your old pics and put a different spin on them.

Look at your surroundings
November 17, 2009I Saw this cool skull in my friends house. I look around my surroundings and look at different angles.

Detail Shots
November 16, 2009Sometimes detail shots are often over looked. It is important to get detail shots of things at an event. Flowers are expensive, arrangements take a long time. But make it creative. Don’t over look any thing.

Crops
November 14, 2009You can get a very different picture by cropping it differently. Here is one of my favorite pictures which you can probably recognize. One of my favorite kinds of crops is a square crop. Try different kinds of crops.

Using props
November 13, 2009In this photo shot we had a lot of fun. I had a great idea. I decided to take their shoes and put them in the foreground and place them in the background. As we look at all of our resources and utilize them we will be able to get great shots.
